This is a part-time (20-35 hours/week), remote position that plays a crucial role in supporting our mission—from managing PyCon US finances to funding global Python initiatives.

Position: Senior Financial Analyst/Accountant

Salary: 31.25 to 31.25–39.50/hour (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities
Financial Automation & Reporting
Identify and automate repetitive accounting processes.
Develop and maintain financial workflows using databases, integrations, and scripting.
Generate custom reports and dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, Excel).
Accounting & Compliance
Manage accounts payable, tax forms (1099/1042-S), and vendor/donor records.
Reconcile bank accounts and maintain audit-ready documentation.
Support non-profit fund accounting and fiscal sponsorship programs.
Payments & Donations
Oversee corporate cards, expense tracking, and receipt collection.
Process donations, manage donor portals, and update financial records.
Event & Travel Support
Assist with PyCon US financial transactions (5-7 days/year travel required).
Support fundraising auctions and travel grants programs.
Qualifications & Skills
Category Requirements
Education Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance or related field.
Experience 5-8 years in accounting (non-profit/fund accounting a plus).
Technical Skills QuickBooks, Excel, tax software (tax1099.com), automation tools.
Soft Skills Strong communication, organization, and remote collaboration.
Preferred Skills Familiarity with Python (optional but a plus), Power BI/Tableau.
